This vintage we celebrate Block 25 from Clone MV6 (Mother Vine 6) from some of our oldest vines at the Kayena Vineyard. These 20-year-old vines have produced a beautifully balanced and generous Pinot Noir with great structure, finesse, and length.

Food Pairings

This powerful yet supple pinot noir is crying out for food. Serve with beef shin risotto and wild mushrooms or a selection of washed rind cheeses with pepper lavosh.

From Block 25 of Kayena Vineyard, MV6 clone; destemmed, cold soak; open fermented; matured for 12 months in French barriques (17% new). Aromatic and powerful, with layers of dark cherry and plum fruit, and positive tannins. Built to go the distance, but its balance makes it an each-way proposition.

This wine is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Block 25 of our Kayena Vineyard. We specifically selected the MV6 clone, also known as Mother Vine 6, which is renowned for its deep colour, structure, and robust fruit flavours. The grapes were destemmed and underwent a cold soak before undergoing malolactic fermentation. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in French oak; 17% of which was new.

A medium-bodied palate with flavours of savoury dark cherry. The French oak barriques used in maturing this wine provide structure and intensity while being perfectly integrated. Typical Tamar tannins are balanced by supple fruit character that builds into a long finish.
