The Ten Acres Shiraz is a single vineyard wine from our award-winning Heathcote site. The artist illustration depicts John Francis Brown and his son John Charles Brown in front of the original Ten Acre plantation of vines at Milawa back in 1885.

Vineyard Region: Heathcote
Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol: 15%
Colour: It boasts a bright ruby red colour with vibrant purple hues.
Aroma: Aromas of cinnamon, white pepper and cedary oak.
Palate: The palate is spicy and elegant with pronounced red berry fruit flavours and balanced oak in the background adding complexity. The acidity provides real liveliness and the tannins are fine grained and well integrated. This wine will gain complexity with age, try it in the cellar for 4 to 6 years from vintage.
Peak Drinking: Until 2024

Recommended food pairings: This wine would work beautifully with a chimichurri marinated and braised lamb shoulder and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Or pan-fried eye fillet with garlic mash and daikon salad. And for cheese try an aged pecorino with homemade walnut bread.

Growing Conditions: The grapes for this wine were grown in the Heathcote region of Central Victoria. The fruit was harvested from late February to early March at a range of baumé levels from 14.5 to 15.

Winemaker: Geoff Alexander

Winemaking notes: This wine was matured in French and American oak barrels, of which 20% were new, for 12 months. The wine was bottled with an alcohol of 15%, a pH of 3.46 and acid level of 6.6 g/L.
